HEALTH & SAFETY

THE PLAYERS Championship’s number one priority is the health and safety of all attendees. As such, guests will be expected  to comply with the health and safety protocols outlined at PGATOUR.com/knowbeforeyougoKey protocols include: 

  • Follow the 3 Ws: Wear a Mask, Wash Your Hands, Watch Your Distance. 
  • Masks are required at all times (indoors and outdoors). Masks will be offered to those guests who forget to bring one.  
  • Social distancing must be practiced at all times. 
  • No food or drink can be consumed within 10 feet of the rope line. 
  • Upon arrival, guests will be required to social distance and complete a health questionnaire. 
  • The ticket-scanning and payment processes will be digital and contactless throughout tournament property. 

It’s essential that ticketed spectators do their part to protect themselves and everyone else at THE PLAYERS. Tournament staff and volunteers will assist spectators with questions and protocols on site

KEY THINGS TO KNOW IN 2021

  • Tickets:
    • In response to health and safety protocols, on-site capacity will be reduced.
    • All tickets to THE PLAYERS 2021 will be mobile and must be purchased via THEPLAYERS.COM/tickets
    • Tickets will go on-sale to the general public starting on Tuesday, February 16.
    • Each guest will be allowed to purchase up to two tickets per day, per account, while supplies last.  
  • Youth Tickets: Up to two (2) youth, ages 15 and under, will be admitted free with a ticketed adult on Tuesday and Wednesday only (Presented by Nemours Children’s Health System) 
    • In order to access a hospitality venue, ALL youth must have the proper ticket Tuesday-Sunday.
  • Parking:
    • New in 2021, ALL parking will be completely digital.
    • Due to health and safety concerns, we will not utilize fan shuttles for general admission fans, nor shuttles from downtown Jacksonville.
    • As in years past, all parking must be purchased separately.
    • Parking passes are required every day, Tuesday through Sunday.
    • ‘Four or more for free’ vouchers will not be offered this year.  
  • Military and Veteran Tickets: 
    • Complimentary admission will be provided to active duty, retired, reserve, and National Guard membersand one dependent, on Tuesday, March 9, and Wednesday, March 10, while supplies last. Valid identification and credentials are required.
    • Veterans with valid identification can purchase discounted tickets on Tuesday, March 9 and Wednesday, March 10, while supplies last. (limited to 2 tickets per veteran per day). 
    • Vouchers will be presented upon ID verification and must be redeem at Will Call (see location directly below). Please note that no vouchers will be redeemed at on-site entry gates.
  • New Will Call Location in 2021: 13000 Sawgrass Village Circle Building 1 Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082
  • Merchandise: There will be a PGA TOUR Fan Shop within the Welcome Experience (main entrance) as in years past. In addition, the Welcome Experience and Fan Shop will be open to the public the weekend before the tournament (March 5-7), so that our Northeast Florida community can come check out the unique merchandise collection and purchase commemorative items and apparel.
    • Friday, March 5: 12 pm to 5 pm 
    • Saturday, March 6: 10 am to 4 pm 
    • Sunday, March 7: 10 am to 4 pm 
  • Cashless experience: Payment processes at the PGA TOUR Fan Shop, all vendors and all concession stands will be digital, contactless and cashless throughout the entire tournament property. 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Sunday, February 28 

  • 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. –  “A Star is Born”: THE PLAYERS and Operation Shower to celebrate 40 military moms-to-be with drive-in baby shower; Even though on-site military appreciation initiatives will look different at THE PLAYERS this year, the tournament and Operation Shower are committed to celebrating and honoring military moms-to-be by continuing the longstanding tradition of hosting a baby shower ahead of THE PLAYERS for these special military mothers. 40 moms from Northeast Florida military bases will drive to TPC Sawgrass for the “A Star is Born”-themed baby shower, remaining in their vehicles while they are treated to a unique drive-in experience including gifts, games, surprises and a film presentation with executive production by OptumServe, the federal health services business of Optum, Proud Partner of THE PLAYERS.

Friday, March 5 

  • Noon – 5 p.m.: The PGA TOUR Fan Shop at THE PLAYERS Welcome Experience is open to the public; No ticket is required and parking is free in the general lot off CR 210.
  • 10 a.m.: Health Equity Panel – THE PLAYERS will host and facilitate a health equity panel discussion focused on the efforts being led to improve health outcomes in northeast Florida. Click HERE to view the event program and access the live stream link.  

Saturday, March 6

  • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: The PGA TOUR Fan Shop at THE PLAYERS Welcome Experience is open to the public; No ticket is required and parking is free in the general lot off CR 210.
  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m.- Military Job Fair presented by United Rentals -THE PLAYERS, in partnership with the Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition, will host its tenth annual Military Job Fair presented by United Rentals. New in 2021, the job fair will be located outdoors in The Grove, which is located just steps away from THE PLAYERS Welcome Experience. Guests must park in the general parking lot off CR 210. The Military Job Fair is free and open to military personnel, veterans and military spouses. 25 companies with existing job opportunities will be on-hand. 

Sunday, March 7

  • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – The PGA TOUR Fan Shop at THE PLAYERS Welcome Experience is open to the public; No ticket is required and parking is free in the general lot off CR 210.

Monday, March 8

  • Practice Day for professionals
  • Course closed to the public

Tuesday, March 9 – Military Appreciation Day

  • Entries open at 7:30 a.m.
  • Will Call Hours: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Charity of the Day: Fire Watch 
  • Noon- Military Appreciation Day Flyover 
  • THE PLAYERS Baby Onesie initiative: Every baby born in northeast Florida during the entire week of THE PLAYERS receives a special onesie. 

Wednesday, March 10

  • Entries open at 7:30 a.m.
  • Will Call Hours: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Practice Day for professionals
  • Charity of the Day: Nemours Children’s Health System 
  • All day: THE PLAYERS Championship Caddie Competition in Memory of Bruce Edwards – Closest to the pin competition at the 17th hole amongst all of the caddies.
  • 8-10 am: THE PLAYERS First-timers press conference – Media have the opportunity to interview the PGA TOUR players who are participating at THE PLAYERS Championship for the first time. This year’s first-timers press conference will be held virtually. More information to come. 
  • 9:30 am – 2:30 pm – Training “U” Sports and Business Education Forum (Location- Sawgrass Marriott, followed by course tour) -Training “U” is a sports and business education forum started by the PGA TOUR’s “CORE” employee resource group. It aims to introduce high school student-athletes to career opportunities beyond the sport. 35 student-athletes from public schools in Duval and St. Johns County will learn about the wide variety of jobs available in the sports industry through this experience.
  • 4:00 p.m. – The Tesori Family Foundation All-Star Clinic (Sawgrass Country Club) – The Tesori Family Foundation was founded in 2009 by Paul Tesori—former PGA TOUR player and current PGA TOUR caddie for THE PLAYERS 2018 champion Webb Simpson—along with his now wife Michelle, to give back to those in need in the Northeast Florida community. The All-Star Clinic invites children with special needs to a golf clinic at Sawgrass Country Club, and it has since expanded to other PGA TOUR events as well, serving more than 200 kids annually.

Thursday, March 11

  • Third round of competition begins at approximately 7:50 a.m., depending on the size of the cut (twosomes off No.1)
