Support ‘fore’ the frontline: Hilton Garden Inn Ponte Vedra & THE PLAYERS partner with Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation to thank health associates

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. – As nurses and other health associates left Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside, following their 12-hour night shift, they were greeted with applause, ‘thank you’s’ and breakfast, courtesy of the Hilton Garden Inn– Ponte Vedra location. With additional support from the Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation, close to 550 on-campus representatives were fed.
The Hilton Garden Inn – Ponte Vedra is a long-standing partner and neighbor of THE PLAYERS, serving as host to hundreds of guests during the championship. Members of THE PLAYERS volunteer leadership team – known as the Red Coats – joined this spirited rally, hosted to express gratitude to the associates battling the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the Red Coats distributed hand sanitizers—part of the 15,000 hand sanitizers that were scheduled to be distributed by the Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation team during THE PLAYERS but have since been distributed to associates at Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County and Southside campuses and patients at Ascension St. Vincent’s COVID-19 drive-through testing site.
“I can’t begin to describe how much this gesture means to myself and the entire Ascension St. Vincent’s team, especially during these challenging times,” said Jennifer Morton, VP of Nursing, Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside. “It’s so rewarding to see community partners come together to support us. Together, we will get through this.”

THE PLAYERS’ support of Ascension St. Vincent’s dates back to 1994. In 2017, THE PLAYERS Championship donated a new mobile medical unit, which is continuing to serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
